I am not a fan of political posts, but @Jim Murray's posts on American politics always provoke reactions. This one has more than 1.500 comments on LinkedIn. 

Is there any topic on beBee that could still generate at least a small fraction of such an engagement?

I scrolled through some old comment threads.
In almost all of them, I noticed the disrupted comment sequences. Because beBee deleted profiles of inactive members, their comments disappeared from the threads. Therefore, we see responses to non-existent comments. 

I wonder, could it have been done differently? 

In the old version of beBee, we had a similar situation, but comments remained. When we clicked on the commenter's name, a notification would appear that the person had deleted their profile or something like that.

My latest post on beBee, Exclusivity of Truth, doesn't show up on Google at all despite having typed all the keywords.

On Microsoft Bing, it appears at the top of the page.

@Javier 🐝 CR, what are the reasons for that.

Perhaps only Google knows. :)

Have You Cleaned Your (Metaphorical) Windows Lately?

I share a short story from the Paulo Coelho blog. He is one of my favourite writers. This one and other stories on his blog reminded me of important things in life.

The Dirty Laundry

A young couple moved into a new neighbourhood.

The next morning while they were eating breakfast, the young woman saw her neighbour hanging the washing outside.

“That laundry is not very clean; she doesn’t know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap.”

Her husband looked on, remaining silent.

Every time her neighbour hung her washing out to dry, the young woman made the same comments.

A month later, the woman was surprised to see a nice clean wash on the line and said to her husband, “Look, she’s finally learned how to wash correctly. I wonder who taught her this?”

The husband replied, “I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows.”

And so it is with life… What we see when watching others depends on the clarity of the window through which we look.

So don’t be too quick to judge others, especially if your perspective of life is clouded by anger, jealousy, negativity or unfulfilled desires.

“Judging a person does not define who they are. It defines who you are.” Good morning!

@Javier 🐝 CR, why we can insert GIFs in comments but not in posts?

Croatia has eight national parks and eleven nature parks. They are all enchantingly beautiful and worth a visit.

Krka National Park is one of the most beautiful. Crystal clear water and vibrant scenery contribute to the whole experience of the incredible power of nature. 🤗

For the last two days, I have spent a few hours of my precious free time editing my post Geometry, All Around Us. When imported from the old beBee, images in my few posts either disappeared or messed up.

I tried to edit images, but every time I clicked the Edit button, blank paragraphs (blank spaces) were inserted automatically, above and below every image. There's no way to move the images up or down or to remove empty spaces. 

Then, I deleted all images and inserted them again. It seemed okay, and I even inserted captions into images. After saving and clicking the Edit button, blank paragraphs appeared again, and captions didn't show. I deleted all post images and inserted them once again without captions.  

When I saved the last edited version, the following text showed up above the first image, http://www.w3.org/2000/svg"> 

I noticed a few more link display errors but have no more time or energy for editing all over again. 

Luckily, I have only a few long posts with many images, so I will try to edit them all when I have time. But all that deters me from publishing these kinds of posts on beBee, at least before editing glitches are solved and missing features added.

BUILDING STRONG STRUCTURES WITH WEAK MATERIALS - THE POWER OF PAPER 

The self-supporting and weight-bearing paper bridge was created completely out of paper without using glue, screws, or any other fixings to keep the sheets of paper in place.
The bridge was a temporary installation by British environmental artist Steve Messam, built on the principles of traditional stone bridge building methods. 
Perhaps humans can learn from this kind of structure. Even we are weak, we could become stronger if we stick together.

Interesting share by my friend on LI about global population projections.

The demographic changes of the world are extremely dynamic. Today, Croatia is one of the oldest countries in the world with the most disadvantaged population structure. By share of the population under the age of 15 (14.6%), Croatia is 178th in the world, and there are 20.8% of people over 65.
 

By 2100, the change in age structure (globally) will be dramatic, with more than 25% of people aged over 65, while today this figure ranges well below 10%. 

The population of India and China will begin to decline in the second half of the century. China's overall population is projected to halve to 732 million by 2100.  India will be the only country with a billion inhabitants at the end of the century.
