For the last two days, I have spent a few hours of my precious free time editing my post Geometry, All Around Us. When imported from the old beBee, images in my few posts either disappeared or messed up.
I tried to edit images, but every time I clicked the Edit button, blank paragraphs (blank spaces) were inserted automatically, above and below every image. There's no way to move the images up or down or to remove empty spaces.
Then, I deleted all images and inserted them again. It seemed okay, and I even inserted captions into images. After saving and clicking the Edit button, blank paragraphs appeared again, and captions didn't show. I deleted all post images and inserted them once again without captions.
When I saved the last edited version, the following text showed up above the first image, http://www.w3.org/2000/svg">
I noticed a few more link display errors but have no more time or energy for editing all over again.
Luckily, I have only a few long posts with many images, so I will try to edit them all when I have time. But all that deters me from publishing these kinds of posts on beBee, at least before editing glitches are solved and missing features added.

Zac, I wanted to say that my post URL is mentioned in articles of others. The only solution I can see is to delete all the text inside the post (along with images) and pasting everything from my LI article.

Unfortunately, your team haven't managed to fix glitches. After their “intervention,” the situation is even worse. My last edited version hadn't empty spaces below images. Now they showed again, and the link addresses multiplied, as seen in the screenshot. The text below the image should appear in the image caption.

Have you considered using a link proxy like bit.ly and change the target link if it fails, all while maintaining the bit.ly link you share with everyone else?

Thanks, Jim. You gave me an idea, delete all the text inside the post, along with pictures and paste it from the LI post. I'll first wait for Javier's team to reinstall the images properly. I don't want to recreate it as a new post because then the link to my original post won't work anymore. This link is in a large number of other articles.

Thank you for your advice and help Ken, I appreciate it. 🤗 I shared my post in beBee bugs because it is the group for reporting bugs, glitches, and all other problems we experienced.
I published my 'special' posts on other social media sites besides beBee. “Cross-pollination” is most important. My post about geometry was noticed on Linkedin, not beBee, and cited many times by the Academia website members. Posts such as "Geometry, All Around Us" and "Magnificient Hyperbolic Paraboloid" (which I published only on beBee but shared on LinkedIn) are my references. It is important to me they are displayed properly and without any glitches. I hope Javier and his team will solve the mentioned glitches but also improve existing editing features. To me, working with images without any technical issues is very important.
I learned a long time ago to back up my files always. 🙂

I have an inherent fear of all SM publications being lost or distorted, Lada. Nothing is perfect and all systems are prone to bugs. That is why I have always backed up my publications as PDFs. When I noticed that one of my ‘special’ posts on beBee had almost all images missing and, like you, could not successfully edit, I contacted @Javier 🐝 CR directly. After sending him my back-up PDF, the IT support team were able to reinstall my post successfully after a few days. I understand that some 130,000+ posts had to be transferred across from the old to new beBee and that some problems have occurred, particularly with posts having large numbers of pictures. I suggest that your best course of action is to contact Javier directly. The only alternative, if you don’t have back up, is to reconstruct as a new post. These glitches occasionally happen in all IT set ups, including in my company. Accordingly my advice to you is to always back up what you publish. 🤔

You are always welcome as a visiting author at my blog where there aren't any technical issues and it's super easy to work with images. You can always put a link to the article, once it's published, so that all beBee members can enjoy it too. Thoughts?
