Is there any topic on beBee that could still generate at least a small fraction of such an engagement?

Dear Franci, I saw in my newsfeed that you have already written a poem! I admire the ease with which you create your poetry. I'm the complete opposite, especially lately. It takes me months to complete the drafts I already started. Caring for my mom left me no time, and I can only write in rare moments. None of them is my LI contact. :) I've recently read an interesting article about bots that write blog posts. So you never know who might be the author of what you are reading. There are even bots that write poetry. I strongly suspect that some prolific Bees are bots. 😁😂

I was astonished at the numbers this post pulled (currently 277,200 views). I can't help but agree with Zacharias that a lot of that is bots. I have never pulled anywhere near that number on my other posts there. The reason I think a lot of that is bot-drive is that when you do a post that gets read by a lot of people, you usually get a lot of connection requests, but I have has relatively few.

Zacharias, I'm an average LI user who isn't looking for a job or hiring someone. :) A very coherent and supportive part of my network consists of the members of the Bizcatalyst community who are very engaged in commenting on each others' articles. Some of them set the standard for authentic engagement. Whenever I have the time (so rare in the last two years), I enjoy reading or participating in discussions with them. It somewhat reminds me of the old beBee. Many LI users are on Linkedin for the same purpose as I am: to share knowledge, express ideas, and support each other.

Probably it's around the same amount of interaction you find on LI, with the difference being that those “people” interacting with one's posts on LI are mostly bots. The average LI user doesn't even visit that site, unless he/she is looking for a job, is promoting a project, or looking to hire someone. The same goes for Twitter where there are probably more bots than people!

From my experience, we can count on less than ten people to read and comment on our posts lately. I came to terms with that fact. :)

Franci, I visit LinkedIn from time to time. Since I follow many Bizcatalyst writers on LI, their posts mainly came up in my newsfeed. Still, LinkedIn is full of content on politics and covid-related topics. Most of those posts are designed to provoke anger or mockery. They drive the most engagement.
As for beBee, the engagement we once had with our posts is a thing of the past, no matter the topic.
